DUTCH BAY BAY

Updated: Aug 19, 2020

Preheat oven to 450 (I know its pretty hott..but so are you)

Batter

⅔ cup Flour (white)

⅔ cup Milk

⅛ teaspoon Nutmeg (sprinkle a little in)

½ teaspoon Salt

2 tablespoon melted Butter (unsalted)

4 Eggs

  • Mix all together, till the batter is smooth. Then set aside

**If making a plain Dutch Bay Bay add this to your batter**

  • 2 tablespoon sugar (white)

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Fruit

½ cup of Berries (I’ve mainly used, blueberries, strawberries so far)

2 tablespoon Butter

2 tablespoon Brown sugar

½ teaspoon Cinnamon

  • Mix all together in any pan you have (Just not the Cast Iron) and cook over Medium heat

  • Stirring constantly, till soft and melty

  • Then set aside

Cast Iron

2 tablespoons butter (unsalted)

  • Over Medium high heat, brown butter in cast iron pan

Butter will melt down & look golden brown - might look burnt, but don't worry, its probably not

  • Then turn off heat

NOW

  • Immediately pour batter into cast iron pan (Don't mix)

  • Pour fruit in randomly or circular motion in cask iron pan (still don't mix)

Oven

  • Pop in oven and bake for 15 minutes (Don't open oven, or the Bay Bay will deflate!)

!REMEMBER! The Cast Iron is metal, so use proper gear when taking out of the oven.

Serve

  • Cut into wedges

  • Dust with powdered sugar, or drizzle maple syrup, or even just eat it plain!

Enjoy! NOM NOM NOM
